Texas Watch is a network of trained volunteers and supportive partners working together to gather information about the natural resources of Texas and to ensure the information is available to all Texans. Established in 1991, Texas Watch is administered through a cooperative partnership between Texas State University, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Currently, over 400 Texas Watch volunteers collect water quality data on lakes, rivers, streams, wetlands, bays bayous, and estuaries in Texas. Learn More>

Texas Watch Training: Texas Watch will hold a water quality monitoring training on Saturday, November 17, 2007 from 8:30-3:30 at The Landing - Aquarena Center. This training will teach participants how to collect water quality data. Upon successful completion of the training, participants will be "Certified Water Quality Monitors." Texas Watch Regional Meeting: Texas Watch, in partnership with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality(TCEQ) and the Sabine River Authority (SRA), will host a roundtable presenting information about water quality issues in Adams and Cow Bayous. This forum will be held: Saturday, Nov. 10th, 8:30-3:30 at West Orange Community Center in Orange, TX. Lunch will be provided. Texas Watch Regional Meeting:Texas Watch will host a roundtable featuring informative presentations and discussion on Oso Bay/Oso Creek and Petronila Creek with a special emphasis on bacteria and solid waste issues. The forum will be held: Saturday, Nov. 10th 8:30 - 3:00 at Coastal Bend Council of Governments, 2910 Leopard St., in Corpus Christi, TX. World Water Monitoring Day 2007 - September 18, 2007 to October 18, 2007
World Water Monitoring Day is an international outreach program that builds public awareness and involvement in protecting water resources around the world. Held annually between Sept 18 and Oct 18, the program engages communities in monitoring the condition of local rivers, streams, estuaries and other water bodies.
